Steel City Roller Derby Presents Derby 101
Pittsburgh, begin your roller derby journey on Monday, June 30th! Derby 101 starts at 7:30p and we ask you to join us at 7:15p for check-in. Derby 101 is a guided intro to the world of roller derby, where you'll learn the basics, meet the Steel City Roller Derby Training & Skills team, and learn how to join our Freshie program (kicking off on Monday, July 14th at the Homewood-Brushton Branch YMCA). No experience needed — just bring your curiosity, equipment (see below) and get ready to roll!
Equipment Requirements
We require a helmet, skates, knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards. Quad skates in a derby style are recommended. SCRD has a limited number of pads and helmets available for borrowing. Additionally, Wicked Skatewear will be partnering with us for the night! They will have loaner skates available…
